At the moment am quite stressed out as we are looking for a new student house for next year.
Am living with different people, one girl is my best friend and on my course. The other two do a different course but we are all good friends. It just so hard finding one place that all 4 of us like! I like space, and being able to put my own mark on something. The house I live in at the moment is nice, but it has no character. Its just white walled and wooden floored boxes.
We have a house viewing for a house today that looks GORGEOUS on the outside! So am excited to see it :)

Apologies
Hi guys, sorry i've been a bit quiet lately...
Basically on Monday I hadn't lost any weight, I was exactly 100kg, which was exactly the same as last week. So was a bit down about it, but today woke up and realised that I just have to keep trying. Went to the gym, did Day 2 of Week 4 of Couch to 5K which I never would have been able to do before, so just have to keep trucking along!

Sunday, Sunday
Sunday...what a very misleading name as there is no sun today, just lots of snow!
Went to the gym today, even though it's my off day just felt like I should make up for some of my indulgences the past few days.
Did Day 1 of Week 4 of Couch to 5K and it was hard work! Jogging for 5 minutes nearly killed me, but am happy dad I did it. Am slowly working my way towards 30 mins!
Need to do my food and exercise plan for next week today.

I'm not alone!
Was reading my favourite fitness blog Fitsugar and found this article
And it sums up how i'm feeling at the moment, lacking motivation! Glad i'm not alone :) Have been doing better today, went to the gym and have been eating healthier (except for some chocolate digestives but ce la vie)
After being excited about my hair cut, i now really don't like it. It looked great when he styled it, but it's just too short and there are so many layers it flicks out all over the place...just need it to grow fast!

Guilt
It's the 19th of February and i've realised it's only 9 days until the March. That means the first month of me getting back into shape will be over.
I need to stop 'cheating' as the only person it's hurting is myself. Today I went out for lunch with friends and had a low carb fry up bacon, sausages, mushrooms etc...as well as hash browns and toast. I need to stop allowing myself treats just because I went to the gym that day, I can't lose weight if I don't have a balanced lifestyle. I need to be strict with myself. The odd treat is ok, but not everyday. I've lost 3.2kgs which is good, but who knows how much i'll have lost this week, and if the weight loss starts slowing down i'll end up behind on my target. I'm going to the gym tomorrow, Sunday is usually my day off but I might make myself go then as well to make up for my bad behaviour! I was going to move weigh in day to Tuesday, but think i'll keep it as a Monday as I won't have time to go to the gym on Monday as it's my busiest day and I always feel funny not going to the gym the day before my weigh in.
Maybe this guilt is just the kick I needed to get back on track.

Haircut Part 2!
So had my hair cut and here are the results...

I'm quite happy with the results, a bit shorter than I was expecting but I told him to cut off the dead ends and my hair feels a lot healthier!! Nearly cried when he was cutting it though as he was literally holding it up and cutting off huge chunks at a time, plus he's a lovely italian hairdresser who speaks very little english which worried me a bit when I first went to him, but he always seems to get it right so can't complain.

Okay, yesterday I had a moment of weakness!
My housemates and I were feeling a bit down as the weather in Manchester at the moment is bleak, and were all looking for placements next year and having no joy...Cupcakes seem to be the food of the moment so I googled cupcake cafe's in Manchester and found the Sweet Tooth Cupcakery which is only 10 mins from where we live! So off we went and it was...AMAZING!
The cupcake on the left was a wheat free chocolate cupcake which was gorgeous! It was so light, but tasted almost like a brownie. On the right the cupcake was lemon flavoured with lemon icing. (Yes I got 2...was too hard to choose!) They were both gorgeous so I don't feel guilty at all for eating them and will definitely be returning to the cupcakery when I feel like a little treat :)

Not in the mood
Last night I knew I had to go to the gym this morning and I was dreading it, well dreading is a bit strong...I just wasn't looking forward to it. I laid out my gym clothes as it helps me to be more motivated in the morning if I know where my stuff is. But I need to do a wash so knew i'd have to wear an old tshirt that makes me feel a bit frumpy. I woke up at 7.30 (my alarm was set for 8.30) and spent the next hour sleeping for 5-10 mins knowing that I couldn't really go back to sleep. Ended up turning off my alarm and just getting up. Had some frozen berries with mascarpone for brekkie, which was recommended on an atkins website and I felt like a change, but it wasn't as good as I was expecting...then got changed and headed to the gym. Was doing W3D3 of Couch to 5k but my tshirt was a bit too short and legging short things that I wear wouldn't stay up so I felt a bit self concious. I managed to do it though but couldn't wait to come home.
So am now home! I'm glad I went, especially after eating cupcakes yesterday. But it was one of those mornings!

Changing Room Etiquette
Yesterday at the gym, there was a woman walking round stark naked...
Am I the only one that find it's a bit awkward as you just don't know where to look! She then walked starkers over to where the hairdryers are, and used the free body lotion that we get out of a dispenser to cover her whole body...at one point I made the mistake of looking over and she was rubbing it in between her bum cheeks. I needed to dry my hair but ended up just going home! She was in fantastic shape don't get me wrong, but a towel wouldn't have gone a miss!

RPM Express
Went to the same RPM class today that I did 2 weeks ago when I first started RPM. It's RPM Express so it's 30 mins long instead of the usual 45min which I enjoy more as I find it easier to really push myself for the express, the normal RPM class just drags on a bit for me. So will stick to RPM Express for now and maybe try normal RPM again in a couple of weeks.

Mmm Lunch
My lunch was SO GOOD! Wish I had taken a photo now...it was just so delicious and simple :)
All I did was took 2 portabello mushrooms, the big flat ones. Drizzled with a little olive oil and put in the oven to cook them a bit. Then took them out, put on some tomato puree, then some tuna and finally covered them with cheddar cheese. Popped them in the oven for 5 minutes until the cheese had melted then ate them! Reminds me a bit of a pizza/panini, without the carbs!

Happiness
Today so far has been a much better day than yesterday!
Woke up at 8.30, had a new breakfast...mascarpone cheese with frozen berries, found the recipe in an old atkins book I had so it's low in carbs. It tasted a bit like a fruity cereal just without the cereal and it was a nice change from scrambled eggs and bacon!
Went to the gym and did W3D2 of Couch to 5K, it was tough but it felt easier than it did on Monday which felt good as it shows that my fitness is slowly increasing!
Am now relaxing watching This Morning, for lunch today I am having portabello mushrooms stuffed with tuna and cheese, very excited about that. Am trying to mix up my food options so that I don't get bored and tempted to snack.

Pic a Mix
I am rather ashamed to admit it but last night after i'd driven for 4 hours all the way back to Manchester I was feeling pretty low, I hadn't lost that much weight and I felt groggy after all the food i'd eaten that weekend, plus I woke myself up early to go to the gym and did Day 1 Week 3 of Couch to 5K which was hard, I was shattered.
I know I shouldn't comfort myself with food...but the Candy King pic a mix at our local blockbuster was just too hard to resist! So I will enjoy the rest of the pic a mix, and once it's gone I will not buy anymore for a very long time!
Just had to get the guilt off my chest :)

100kg!
So I only lost 0.4kg this week, but i'm just suprised I lost anything after the weekend I had! Went out for dinner on Saturday, had a big roast on Sunday etc.etc. so will just get back to normal this week :)

Home Sweet Home
Being at home has been great, have been going to my other gym which I love as it's nice to shake things up a bit sometimes!
But I keep finding that since i'm at home...and all the food is free, I find myself 'treating' myself more than usual! But am only home for one weekend so might as well make the most of it. Will just cross my fingers that i've lost weight tomorrow, and will get back on track when i'm back in Manchester.

Exercise is like brushing your teeth
I once read this saying somewhere 'exercise is like brushing your teeth' and it has really stuck with me. Basically, you wouldn't dare go longer than a day without brushing your teeth and thats the way you should feel about exercise.
It's okay to forget to brush every now and again, but making exercise part of your routine makes it as natural as...brushing your teeth!

Getting back on track
Today has been better than yesterday! Didn't go to the gym though. I had Uni at 11am, and after yesterday's day of sheer tiredness I decided I deserved a lie in. Also had to drive from Manchester to Reading as am home for the weekend and didn't want to be too tired. Also am allowed 2 days off a week, so today will just be one of my off days for this week. Ok, thats enough excuses for one day!
Have eaten well today, had eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast, thai green chicken soup for lunch, then bolognaise sauce for dinner. Managed not to snack in between so am happy. Hopefully if I stay on track over this weekend I will still have lost some weight when I weigh myself on Monday. Last weeks weigh in was so exciting but I don't feel as confident about this week.
As a form of motivation, my friend posted some photos on Facebook of a recent night out and I think this photo is hideous...
I'm on the far left as you've probably guessed!
I just want to be the same size as my friends, so everytime I feel myself tempted to have crisps or cake or anything remotely devilishly tasty I will look at this photo!
Am going to the gym at home tomorrow, not Virgin and seemingly it has some new machines so I am strangely excited! Also have Day 3 of Week 2 Couch to 5k to complete, can't believe i've almost finished my 2nd week, and i'm actually enjoying running!

Consoling myself with prawns
Had a bit of an off day yesterday, woke up and went to the gym which was good. But by dinner time I was absolutely shattered and couldn't even contemplate making a meal. Ended up going to Tampopo with some friends as there's a 2 for 1 deal on Studentbeans Which was delicious. I had some prawn crackers, then a prawn pad thai (i do love prawns!). I'm consoling myself with the fact that pad thai isn't that bad for you, as it was only noodles, veg and prawns. Was absolutely full to the brim by the end of the meal and fell asleep full and happy!

Last night
Last night was 'the big one', had a really fun night! Watched what I drank, had Cava before going out as it's quite low in calories, then had one Apple VK when I was out and that was it, and at the end of the night the bar people laid glasses of water along the bar so had 4 or 5 big glasses of water which hopefully cleaned out my system! Was up at 9.30am and off to the Gym, did Week 2 Day 2 of the Couch 2 5K and i'm still really enjoying it. Am going home for the weekend tomorrow which should be good.

Penguin Jumper
My penguin jumper finally arrived! I love it, am wearing it now and feel fantastic! The sun is shining and i'm off into Manchester town to spend some money :)
Bad Gym Day
I really don't know why but today was a funny day at the gym, I was doing the couch to 5k and about to start one of the running sections, so set off running and i must have elbowed the emergency stop button as it came to a sudden halt and I thought I was going to go flying off the back! Thankfully, I think I recovered pretty well...but had to set up the machine again which was a tad frustrating. Then I was on the elliptical and moved onto the bike, getting off the bike I realise I didn't have my ipod! I had left it on the elliptical and thankfully the woman handed it into reception. The strange thing was, when I got in the car I had a missed call from the gym saying the Personal Trainer Jeff, the annoying woman I don't like had handed in my ipod. But I don't know how they knew it was mine as it doesn't have my name on it or anything...so now i'm even more annoyed at Jeff as she must literally watch me everytime I go in! Ah well, will go back tomorrow and have a good day :)

On a High
Am still on a high from losing 2.8kg! Have had an ok food day today, had good lunch and brekkie but then went straight to the cinema after Uni (saw the Princess and the Frog, suprisingly good film!) so didn't have dinner, and had some popcorn instead which is bad! But will just crack on at the gym tomorrow. Am doing Week 2 Day 1 of the Couch 2 5K so hopefully it'll go well, just need to remember to put the podcast on my ipod!
Even though i'm so happy that I lost weight, now the excitement of the first week is over I feel a bit...I can't describe it, I just know that it's going to get harder to lose weight the more I lose, so just need to keep positive. Have a big night out tomorrow, so will watch how much I drink, then make sure i'm in the gym on Wednesday, then i'm going home for the weekend on Thursday so just have to cross my fingers and work hard!

2nd Weigh In
So, the moment of truth, the day has arrived!
Woke up at 6.30am and it was like Christmas morning all over again, jumped on the scales and I am now...
100.4kg!
So I managed to loose 2.8kg which is 6 pounds, in one week! I am very happy :)!
I do feel lighter, but I think it's too soon for the results to show, but it is definitely the good start I needed to encourage me to work on through to my goal! RPM this morning was tough, the lady was alot meaner than the one last Thursday! Not that she wasn't nice, she just worked us alot harder and singled people out so you knew you had to work hard! At one point I slowed down and she noticed straight away, but when I got back into it she said I was 'excellent' so it was all worth it! Am waiting for the pain to kick in now...

Weigh in Nerves!
Am starting to feel a bit nervous now about tomorrow, what if I haven't lost anything...or as much as I hope I have?
I was 103.2kg at the last weigh in, and am hoping to be 101.something kg tomorrow. As long as i'm at the 101 mark i'm happy, or even below that and I would be estatic! So will just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best. I've had a good day today, had a 'lie in' until 11 so missed breakfast, so had vegetable soup for lunch and a tuna steak with carrots, mushrooms and sweetcorn for dinner. Am not a big fan of tuna steaks i've realised, they are just a bit too dry for my liking. Had the steak with a tomato sauce but it just didn't seem to help...
Anyways, wish me luck! Am going to RPM at 7am so will be up at 6.30...ahhh!

Seeing the improvements
I know it sounds mental but I feel slimmer already, am just getting ready to go the comedy store and I put a waist belt round a dress (which i never do) and it actually looks good for once!

Excitement

Pain
Am in serious pain today, woke up this morning feeling achey (set my alarm for 9am) but was excited as had my last run of Couch to 5K to do today, so had fun at the gym, am really enjoying the Couch to 5K programme. Then went on the elliptical for 10 minutes and my legs were aching even more, and now am at home in bed and they are still aching. Have done lots of stretches so I know they'll get better, just think its a consequence of going from no exercise to running and spinning in one week! Tomorrow is my rest day, but I still feel like i should go as it's my first weigh in on monday, but I really need a rest day to recover my legs so will have to ban myself from the gym for one day!

Manic
Today has been quite busy, was up at 7.50am to go to the gym! Pretty early, but just wanted to get it done as I wouldn't get the chance otherwise. Went to see the house and the tenants told us to not choose it as it's awful, they've been broken into and the landlord never fixes anything, plus the windows are single glazed so heating it is really expensive, rubbish! So we are trying to decided between another house we like or looking for more houses. Such a nightmare.
Am going to the Comedy Store tomorrow night to see a comedian called Tom Stade who I adore! He is so funny, I can't wait. And my friend isn't drinking either so won't be the only one :)

Excitement
Am getting quite excited for Monday and my first weigh in, i better have lost some weight!
Just have 3 days to go, have a doctors appointment at 10.50am tomorrow so am getting up super early to go to the gym before then. Just know that if I leave it to afterwards i'll never go, and things will 'come up'. I really love going early in the morning and just getting it out the way, even though I enjoy it i like to have days free. Then am going to view a house for the 2nd time as soon as the doctors appointment is finished, as we are trying to decided between two student houses to live in next year, they are both lovely it's just so hard to choose!
Just watched The Sweetest Thing, very funny film! 'You're too big to fit in here...' love it!
Right better get an early night for an even earlier start tomorrow!

No pain, no gain
It's been quite a long day today, have felt in a weird mood. My best friend who I was with last night seemed in a weird mood with me, and i've been texting her today and getting no reply...it's probably just paranoia but it gets me down a bit. Just need to have a nice long sleep and get over it :)
Have felt quite full today which is good as I haven't been snacking. Am starting to ache after RPM this morning which I secretly enjoy as no pain means no gain!

Oh my days I cannot even begin to describe how much I enjoyed RPM! It was fantastic. I went to the 'RPM Introduction' sesh at 9.45am which was great as the lovely instructor Caroline showed me how to set up the bike and how to raise and lower the levels. Then at 10 there was an RPM Express class which lasts 30 mins so I stayed for it and it was good, thought i'd ease myself in gently before starting the 45 min sessions that are on during the rest of the week. The 30 mins session was perfect, it was hard work but the music and disco lights made the time fly by. Am really looking forward to going again, just need to figure out my exercise timetable for next week.

Just back from the night out and it went well, for me at least!
Didn't drink any alcohol just had some sugar free red bull (no carbs, woo!) and had a great time. Really don't need alcohol to have fun and I can actually remember all of what happened...whilst my friends wont remember a thing! One friend ended up being sick everywhere, it was disgusting and it really made me think what is the point of drinking? I know it's to 'have fun' but whats so fun about puking your guts up in a club toilet, sorry to be crude!

Lakota
So the big night is here, the night i've been dreading as I don't want to drink.
But have told people that I have a doctors appointment tomorrow which I actually do, so I want to have a 'clear head' and i'm driving us to the club so will save some money!
Will have some red bulls and have fun :)

Day 3
Wow, am almost halfway through week 1 already (i know it's only been 3 days but I like to be positive!)
Was up again at 8.30am had my scrambled eggs and smoked salmon brekkie which was delish. Then set off for the gym, I left earlier today as wasnt waiting for sausages and bacon to cook, but this actually turned out to be a bad thing as leaving at 9am meant I got stuck in all the school traffic, booo! But made it there in the end. Did Week 1 Day 2 of the Couch to 5 K plan, yes you're meant to have a rest day in between, but since i've got spinning tomorrow it just didn't work out as want to have a 'gentle' day on Friday as from what i've heard spinning is brutal! Will definitely let you know how it goes as i'm nervous but excited at the moment. Gym was good, but why do people insist on using the machine next to you when there are a whole row of free treadmills, it really puts me off as I think they're trying to beat me or because i'm a slow runner it boost their confidence. Very annoying. Saw my old trainer nemesis who always trys to get me to sign up, but she was busy today thankfully!
Am now relaxing watching this morning, and am having vegetable soup for lunch, yum yum!

Penguin Love
I REALLLY want this jumper...
It's just so cute and comfy! But it's out of stock :( from the website Missguided So I cant buy it anyways, which is a good thing as need to save money, but I reaaaaaallly like it. Even though i'm not supposed to buy any item of clothing until the end of Feb (or so I told myself...) as hopefully my clothes size will be going down not up by then. So have registered to be emailed when it's back in stock, fingers crossed it just happens to come into stock at the end of Feb!

Gym Bunny!
Wooo! Am just back from the gym and I had a great time.
DId the first Couch to 5K workout, it was quite hard going but not too bad as it pushes you to go further that you/I would go usually but i don't feel knackered or exhausted which is what usually puts me off running, as there is a good mix of runs and breaks. Had my music to keep me going, I thoroughly recommend the Couch to 5K podcast, it meant that I could just cover the display of the treadmill and just listen to the podcast. Once i'd finished the 'run' which lasted 30 mins with a 5 min warm up and 5 min cool down, I spent 15 mins on the elliptical then 10 on the nautilus treadclimber, which i LOVE! It's quite unusual and takes a while to get used to but it's a nice change from running/elipticaling...
I know it looks like a bit of a beast but it really is fun! After listening to the podcast I passed the time watching 'Wanted Down Under' what a brilliant show, so easy to watch!
I didn't get pounced on by a trainer which was brilliant, and I feel so good now i'm back at home as it's dark and raining outside. Which would usually encourage me to stay in bed, but I feel so much better knowing that i've been to the gym and done something productive and I can chill for the rest of today.

Back to the Gym
Just woke up and am getting ready for my first workout!
Set my alarm for 8.30am which was hard as since it's my day off i'd usually lie in until 11...12ish!
But need to get my sleeping pattern into order, so am up early. Am having sausages for breakfast so put them in the moment I woke up (they take 30 mins to cook!)
Am quite nervous about going back to the gym and I really don't know why as i've been there before! But I think it's because a Virgin Active trainer always comes over to ask me about my 'schedule' and trys to sell me personal training sessions. I can't really afford a personal trainer, and I always feel awkward seeing that trainer afterwards as it's like they are judging what i'm doing.

Drinking
Hit a bit of a rough patch, this afternoon in Uni we were discussing what nights to go out this week. I haven't told anyone yet that I won't be drinking alcohol so I was kind of hoping for a quiet week...but at the moment we are going out Wednesday night and Thursday night. Wednesday won't be too bad as it's just to a club called Lakota which can be quite chilled, but on Thursday were going to Sankeys which is druggie/drinkers heaven where everyone just gets off their faces (i've never been but from what I've heard...) So I need to tell them that I'm not drinking, but it's awkward slipping it into conversation. I mean it's only until next Tuesday so they can't give me too much grief about it, but we'll just have to see!
Lunch Munch
Day is going well so far! Went into Uni which was boring beyond belief, then came home. Was going to have a nap as am knackered from having no sleep!! But am just not the napping type, so have been watching films until we go back to Uni at 3pm.
Managing to resist temptation, friend asked if i wanted to go to Font for lunch but managed to resist and instead had some lovely vegetable soup! Didn't realise it had potatoes in it so next time will definitely have to read the label, but ce la vie, it was yummy, healthy and filling!

First Day!
Euggh could not sleep last night, really don't know why! Kept looking at the clock watching it tick past 3am..4am, and then alarm went off at 8.30, fun times! Might have to have a nap inbetween lectures as I feel so groggy.
But back onto the Diet! Weighed myself for the first day and my weight is 103.2kg.
Am not surprised as I was 101.9kg last week, and ate so much yesterday!
So to reach my Valentines Day target I need to get to 100.2kg (hopefully i'll get under 100kg).
Had my breakfast, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, very yummy! And had to have a cup of tea as am so sleepy but will definitely cut tea out after this week.
